Cancellation & Refund Policy
Last updated: 13 August 2026
This policy has two clearly separate parts. Part A covers payments made to Unbound Stays for a host subscription. Part B covers payments made to a Host for a stay — which Unbound Stays is not involved in at all.
Part A — Host Subscription Payments (paid to Unbound Stays)
This part applies only to the subscription fee a Host pays Unbound Stays to publish and keep listings active on the Platform.
- Monthly/Yearly plans: subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel auto-renewal at any time from your Host Dashboard; your listing access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for, after which it will not renew.
- No partial refunds: once a billing period has started, we do not offer a refund for the unused portion of that period, whether you cancel auto-renewal or stop using the Platform.
- Founding Host Offer: this is a one-time, non-recurring annual plan. It is non-refundable once activated, whether purchased online or redeemed via a code, except where required by law.
- Failed/duplicate payments: if you were charged in error (e.g. a duplicate payment due to a technical fault), contact us via our Contact Us page and we will investigate and refund any amount incorrectly charged.
- Processing time: approved refunds are processed to your original payment method via Razorpay and may take 5-7 business days to reflect, depending on your bank.
Part B — Stay Bookings (paid to a Host)
Unbound Stays is not a party to any payment, advance, or balance amount paid by a Guest to a Host for a stay, and does not process, hold, guarantee, or refund any such amount. This includes the listed nightly price, any negotiated total, and any advance payment recorded by a Host on a booking.
- Each Host sets and communicates their own cancellation and refund terms for their property, directly to the Guest, before or at the time of booking.
- Guests should confirm a Host's specific cancellation and refund terms directly with the Host before making any payment.
- If a Guest or Host wishes to cancel a booking, the Platform allows the Guest to mark a booking as cancelled, which frees up those dates — but this does not trigger or guarantee any refund of money already paid to the Host. Any refund of amounts already paid is a matter to be resolved directly between the Guest and the Host.
- Unbound Stays does not mediate, arbitrate, or guarantee the outcome of a cancellation or refund dispute between a Guest and a Host, though we encourage both parties to communicate in good faith.
